James A. Moore, RIP
We have some sad news to share, Flinch fans. We’ve learned that award-winning horror and fantasy writer James A. Moore passed away earlier today at the age of 58. James was the author of more than forty novels, including the Serenity Falls horror trilogy, the Seven Forges fantasy series, and several works of fiction co-written with longtime collaborator Charles R. Rutledge. He was a three-time Bram Stoker Award nominee, and he won the Shirley Jackson Award (with Christopher Golden) for his co-editing of the 2019 horror anthology, THE TWISTED BOOK OF SHADOWS. We were proud to publish his excellent tale, “Hounds of Morhullem,” in our 2021 sword & sorcery anthology, BLOOD ON THE BLADE.
The Flinch team extends its condolences to James’ wife, Tessa Moore, and his wide circle of friends and fans. He was a talented and prolific figure on the horror and fantasy literary landscape, and he will be missed by many.
