Sandusky Summit
Hey, friends! Flinch Books masterminds Jim Beard and John Bruening are prepping for their first in-person business summit of 2025 this weekend. The two titans of small-press publishing will convene in Sandusky, Ohio – the mid-point between their respective corners of the Buckeye State – on Sunday, January 19, to discuss their release schedule for the coming year, as well as the various nefarious schemes they’re hatching to acknowledge Flinch’s tenth anniversary.
Mind you, we’re in contact at least a few times every week throughout the year, but seeing as we live about two hours away from each other, a face-to-face meeting of the minds isn’t always practical. But January is the time when we sit down and map out the year ahead, and we’ve found that the best way to do that is to sit across the table and throw our cards on the table like the serious poker players that we are. (Okay, neither one of us is a serious poker player, but it just sounded like a cool analogy.)
So no suits and ties, no swanky boardrooms, no brandy and cigars. Just two guys eating burgers and fries in a fast-food joint (because that’s how we roll at Flinch) and trying to figure out how to conquer our little corner of the publishing landscape, one book at a time.
Stay tuned, Flinch fans! The outcome of this and other high-level confabs will be revealed in the weeks and months ahead!
